Batson Elected Chair of MSFC Prime Supplier Council
Teledyne Brown Engineering recently announced that Aerospace Systems Business Manager and Small Business Liaison Debbie Batson was recently elected chair of NASA Marshall Space Flight Center’s (MSFC’s) Prime Contractor Supplier Council (MPCSC).
Batson, who has been a member of the council for the last 3 years, was elected to this position by her peers and started her 2-year term on January 1, 2011. In Batson’s role as chair, she will help support the mission of the MPCSC to promote diversity and optimize performance at MSFC through prime contractor subcontracting programs.
“Debbie will serve the council and its members very well,” said TBE President Rex Geveden. “She is respected by NASA and the small business community, and she is extraordinarily well qualified for this role.”
Batson is the recipient of a 2010 MSFC Small Business Advocacy Award for her outstanding leadership and support during the recent revision of the MPCSC web site. She received this award at the 2010 Industry and Advocates Awards Ceremony held in Huntsville, Alabama. Batson also earned a Silver Snoopy Award in March 2004 from MSFC and was selected as Teledyne Brown Engineering Administrative Employee of the Year in 2007.
