Nelson Receives McClellan Memorial Award
Ivy Nelson, a Quality Specialist in Manufacturing Quality Assurance, has been selected as the recipient of the 2008 Dave McClellan Memorial Award.
A special ceremony was held Mar. 2 in the Manufacturing Center at Plant 1 where Nelson, a 21-year employee of TBE, was awarded the 16th annual McClellan award. Mike DeFatta, Vice President of Manufactured Products, presented the award to Nelson with her co-workers and other management staff present.
Nelson was described by her nominator as “always willing to help others, no matter how busy she is…hard working…takes pride in her work and goes the extra mile to ensure that shipments are complete and accurate.” It was also noted that Nelson responds to any and all concerns when interfacing with customers.
Nelson was presented with a $100 Wal-Mart gift certificate and a designated, front-row parking space for a year. In addition, Nelson’s name was engraved on the McClellan award plaque that is displayed in the lobby of the Manufacturing Center.
The award is given in memory of McClellan, a long-time employee of TBE and a close friend to many of those he worked with. McClellan, who was highly respected for his work ethic, sense of humor, and willingness to help his co-workers, was a dedicated individual whose goal was always to do the very best job possible.
Nominations for the award are accepted annually from employees in manufacturing, maintenance, and quality operations. The winner is selected by a different committee of employees each year.
The 2008 selection committee included Jamie Lester, Ed Massey, Kirby Parks, Patricia Pyles, and Patsy Smith. |
