TBE Support Employee of the Year
Mary C. Bell, Configuration Management Specialist on the Engineering Release Desk for Aerospace Systems and Manufactured Products, was selected as the TBE Support Employee of the Year.
Bell is responsible for capturing, stamping, and archiving design data, reports, financial products, and other contract data records for various contracts managed at TBE. In a recent year’s time, she and her co-workers responded to approximately 520 data requests, stamped and posted over 3,126 drawings to the Aerospace Systems Configuration Management Database, and archived 700 documents. The size of manufacturing jobs has increased significantly in recent years, but Bell has continued to perform her job in a friendly, timely, and proficient manner, working extra hours to ensure that manufacturing tasks are supported. She also ensures rigid quality standards and data accuracy, which is reflected by “no findings” related to data assurance audits conducted in the past 2 years.
According to her nominator, “Mary strives to meet and exceed customer demands, is always pro-active in her job, and understands her role in ensuring data accuracy and availability. Her function is crucial to our business. She takes her work seriously yet maintains a friendly spirit every day.”
Bell is a 28-year employee of TBE and holds an A.A. degree from the University of North Alabama.
Other nominees were: Ruthie Jeans (Defense Systems), Debbie King (TSI), Diane Pack (CBRN), and Kelly West (Manufactured Products).

Employee of the Year
Debbie J. King, an administrative assistant and employee of Teledyne since 1983, was selected as the TSI Administrative/Support Employee of the Year.
King is responsible for supporting three groups at TSI: the Public Affairs Group, the Environmental Effects Group, and the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Ground Systems Group. She not only performs the duties of an administrative assistant, but also performs PathFinder task planning and tracking. King performs these advanced duties on 10 task orders with 8 subcontractors on 5 different contracts for several managers and the TSI Business Office. She also took the initiative this past year to develop spreadsheet tools in support of task management and trade show exhibit support expense activities, enabling her to provide excellent, high-quality support to the different teams within TSI.
According to her nominator, “Debbie’s reliability, work ethic, skills, and pleasant personality keep her internal and external customers returning for more assistance. She manages to make each customer feel that they have her full-time support, which is reflected in the many positive comments she receives.” |
