TBE Employees Support Annual Heart Walk

Teledyne employees showed their financial and moral support of the 2010 North Alabama Start! Heart Walk held Saturday, Feb. 20, that kicked off at the University of Alabama in Huntsville Fitness Center.

Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living, the 3-mile Start! Heart Walk helped raise funds to fight heart disease and stroke in an environment that was fun to walk with friends, family, and coworkers!

Teledyne showed their support of the event by registering 16 teams of walkers, with a total of 160 walkers on the teams.  Those who made financial contributions to these Teledyne teams totaled several hundred people and netted The American Heart Association over $13,300, and donations are still coming in.

The American Heart Association is committed to reducing disability and death due to heart disease and stroke through their mission – “Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.”  The walk was one of their avenues for raising awareness and funds to fight these diseases.
