Olympic Medalist Visits TBE
The Teledyne Booster Club proudly hosted a two-hour lunchtime event on Wednesday, December 3, featuring 2008 three-event Olympic medalist Margaret Hoelzer.
The tribute to Margaret was kicked off by TBE President Rex Geveden, who welcomed and congratulated Margaret on her outstanding athletic accomplishments at the 2008 Summer Olympics in China. His introduction was followed by remarks from Margaret, who shared with the audience a special and interesting insight into the Olympic experience. Next, on behalf of the Booster Club, 2008 Board President Darrell Osborn presented Margaret with a $300 check to The Children’s Advocacy Center – a favorite charity of Margaret’s – in appreciation of her taking the time out of her busy schedule to visit TBE.
The event concluded with Margaret signing autographs for a long line of Teledyne employees, who were also given the opportunity to hold and admire her three Olympic medals she had on display.
Margaret is the daughter of employee Hans Hoelzer and his wife, Billie, who also works at TBE. They accompanied Margaret to the event held in the Blue Bat Café.
The Booster Club would like to thank Hans Hoelzer for helping coordinate this event with Booster Club board members Darrell Osborn and Jackie Zarzour. |
