TBE/TSI United Way Campaigns
The annual United Way campaigns held at Teledyne Brown Engineering and Teledyne Solutions
concluded at the end of October, with total pledges still being tallied.
Foster Perry served as TBE’s campaign coordinator, assisted by Anna Spear, and Charlie Blass
was the TSI campaign coordinator, assisted by Stephanie DeLucenay and Jan Bivens.

United Way 2009 Bingo Fundraiser
As part of their fundraising campaigns, TBE and TSI held a number of fun events during the week, which ultimately netted TBE just over $4,800 and TSI $6,800 in donations from employees for United Way. TBE also had one-time donations made in the amount of $1,455. Total employee donations made on-line are still being tallied.TBE held two bake sales, a college spirit costume contest, an on-line auction of parking spaces and employee-donated items like artwork and a free weekend at a cabin on Tim’s Ford Lake, bingo, a pumpkin carving contest, a model rocket contest, a Halloween costume contest, and a gift raffle. A donation jar at the cashier counter of the Blue Bat Café also raised over $200.

United Way 2009 Picnic
TSI held a raffle, with winners receiving such valuable prizes as a Blu Ray DVD player, 47-in. and 32-in. HDTVs, and an iPod nano. They also conducted a bake sale, parking auction, book sale, popcorn sale, cake sale, silent auction, and held a luncheon fundraiser every day of the campaign.

United Way 2009 Pumpkin Carving Contest
Both companies had a good representation of Leadership Givers, which requires an individual or
combination of an individual and spouse to give $1,000 total to United Way. TSI had 14 Leadership Givers and TBE had 64.
The Teledyne Booster Club also made a generous donation of $500 to United Way this year through its Welfare Fund.

United Way 2009 School Spirit Fundraiser
The leaders and assistants of the annual campaign would like to thank all the area coordinators and volunteers who made the fundraising events successful and all those who donated door prizes and raffle items to raise money for the United Way. The funds raised through the campaign will help those less fortunate and in need of the valuable services that United Way offers.
