Elizabeth and Emily Adlich, left. Caroline Armbrester, right

Adlich and Armbrester Girls Honored at Cotillion

Elizabeth and Emily Adlich, twin daughters of Sherry Adlich, and Caroline Armbrester, daughter of Paul Armbrester, were recently “presented” at the 2009 Victorian Cotillion, held by The Gothic Guild of Huntsville.  All of the girls are juniors at Huntsville High School.

The semi-formal dinner dance was the setting for the young ladies to be introduced and escorted by their fathers for a curtsey and promenade.  The Gothic Guild promotes cultural education and historical preservation in Huntsville and Madison County.  Proceeds from the event were donated to the Weeden House Museum.

Elizabeth is a Student Council Officer and member of the Junior Civitans, Spanish Club, Chemistry Club, and Silver Circle Sorority (was voted to serve as secretary 2 years).  She is an honor student and serves as a peer helper, tutoring at Blossomwood Elementary School.  Elizabeth has also served as a cheerleader and was a specialty dancer in the school’s play, “Footloose.”  Outside school, she has taken jazz, tap, and ballet dance for 10 years and serves as a volunteer with her church’s Vacation Bible School, mission trips, and middle school mentoring program.

Emily, an honor student and peer helper at Blossomwood Elementary School, is a member of the Chemistry Club, Spanish Club, and Silver Circle Sorority.  She has played varsity softball for 3 years and was selected to The Huntsville Times 2009 Elite Team – a team whose members are selected from all schools within The Times coverage area.  Emily, who is a pitcher and sometimes third baseman, was also selected for the All-City Team as a freshman and sophomore, 2009 All-City Pitcher of the Year, and the Area 16 tournament Most Valuable Player.  She plays on a softball club team during off-season and is a volunteer at her church with Vacation Bible School, mission trips, and the middle school mentoring program.

Caroline is a straight “A” student and talented vocalist who is a solo and ensemble medalist as well as a member of the Alabama All State Choir.  She is a member of the CRIMSOM BEAT Show Choir and has performed in two productions with the Huntsville High Drama Department.  Caroline was also selected to perform the National Anthem at the Alabama State Wrestling Tournament finals.  Her volunteer activities include serving as her family’s team captain since middle school with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, raising over $10,000 for the organization’s annual fundraiser.  Caroline also volunteers at local churches as a member of the Jr. Crew and as a Student Director for Children’s Ministry.
