Congratulations to Teledyne’s Class of 2009


Teledyne’s Engineered Systems Segment – Teledyne Brown Engineering, Teledyne Solutions, and Teledyne CollaborX – salute their graduates of 2009.  The class includes 1 kindergarten graduate, 30 high school grads, 18 who earned bachelor’s degrees, 10 who received master’s degrees, 1 who earned a Ph.D., two who received Doctorates of Veterinary Medicine, and 1 who was certified in surgical technology.

 

Kindergarten Graduate

 

Brandon Yeager, son of Paula Yeager, is a kindergarten graduate of Little Madison Academy.  He happily posed in his cap and gown for this special occasion.  Brandon likes to spend as much of his time as his parents allow swimming and playing soccer.  He attends pre-first grade for younger students at Madison Academy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

High School Graduates

Jacey Arnott, daughter of Brian Arnott, graduated from Hillsboro Senior High School, Hillsboro, Mo.  She played soccer throughout high school, lettering 2 years on the varsity team.  She was a member of the Spanish Club and served on the Senior Sweetheart Dance Committee.  Jacey also participated in the A+ Future Teachers Mentorship Program as a teacher’s aide and volunteer tutor.  She enjoys indoor soccer, waterskiing, camping, swimming, and reading.  Having earned a 2-year scholarship with a teaching degree emphasis, Jacey currently attends Jefferson County Community College and plans to transfer to Missouri State to complete her teaching degree.

 

Christopher Bouffard, twin son of John Bouffard, graduated from Bob Jones High School (BJHS).  He was a member of the Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and Mu Alpha Theta.  He participated on the basketball team 1 year and the cross country and track team 2 years.  He attends Freed-Hardeman University, Henderson, Tenn., where he is majoring in exercise science and physical therapy.

 

Lauren Bouffard, twin daughter of John Bouffard, is a BJHS graduate, where she was a member of the Beta Club, Junior Civitans, Key Club, FCCLA, FCA, Soccer Sweethearts, and Diamond Dolls.  She also did a lot of volunteer work with Huntsville Hospital, CASA of Madison County, and United Way.  Her senior year, Lauren also served on the United Way Youth Council.  She is studying nursing at Freed-Hardeman University.

 

Betsi Boutwell, daughter of Andy Boutwell, graduated from Buckhorn High School, where she was a member of the Student Council and served as its Executive President her senior year.  Betsi was selected Homecoming Queen and was a member of both the Cross Country and Soccer teams for 4 years, serving as team captain for 2 years.  She received the President’s Education Award for having an “A” average throughout high school and was one of five students selected in the U.S. to serve as an Ambassador to Serbia through the Youth Leadership Program.  Betsi is majoring in political science at the University of North Alabama (UNA) and plans to eventually pursue a law degree.

 

Kenny Chen, son of Betty Chen, is an honor graduate of Bay Area Christian High School, League City, Tex., where he was a member of the school band 1 year.  He played varsity basketball for 3 years, playing starting point guard two of those years.  Kenny was named to the Basketball All District Second Team and helped his team earn the title of 2009 Undefeated District Champs.  He also played varsity soccer, starting as midfielder for a year, and was named to the All District Second Team and helped lead his team to the Final Four in the state playoffs.  Kenny is majoring in computer science at San Jacinto Community College.

 

Kevin Daniel, son of Oscar Daniel, graduated from Hazel Green High School, where he was Student Council President, Alabama Boys State representative, and his high school Trojan Ambassador.  He was a member of the National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society, played varsity football, and was a nominee for the Principal’s Leadership Award and the Bryant Jordan Scholar Athlete Award.  He also did volunteer work at the Huntsville Museum of Art and with the Special Olympics.  The recipient of the Spirit of Auburn Scholarship and the Auburn Leadership Scholarship, Kevin is majoring in pre-pharmacy at Auburn University (AU).

 

Danielle DeFatta, daughter of Mike DeFatta, is a graduate of Grissom High School (GHS), where she served as FCCLA project manager and played soccer for 4 years.  The team was ranked #2 in the state and advanced to the Final Four state championship playoffs her senior year.  An avid soccer player since age 5, Danielle also played club soccer for 4 years.  Active in tap, jazz, and lyrical dance for 14 years, she took professional dance at two local studies, where she danced competitively, and she was also on her high school dance team for 1 year.  Danielle volunteers as a nursery worker at her church and is currently attending Calhoun Community College, where she is undecided as to her major.

 

Amie Elliott, daughter of Allan and Kathy Elliott, graduated in the Top 10% of her class, earning an Advanced Diploma with Honors from Sparkman High School.  Taking dual enrollment college courses while in high school, Amie was a member of the National Honor Society, Drama Club, and French Club, traveling to France and Italy with the club.  She was active in the Sparkman Musical Theatre and had leading roles in three musicals and six plays.  Amie’s photography was also selected to be exhibited at several shows, and she won a number of awards.  As a member of the Sparkman Girls Golf Team, she was named to the All County Golf Team for 3 years, All Metro Team 2 years, and won first place at county and city tournaments.  Amie also played club volleyball and served as her team captain for 2 years.  She enjoys playing piano and guitar, reading, knitting, swimming, photography, and art in her spare time.  She received an academic scholarship to the University of Montevallo, where she is majoring in marine biology.

 

Janie Evans, daughter of Brian Evans, received her diploma from Covenant Christian Academy, where she was active in drama; ballet; gymnastics; basketball; and AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) leadership, a Christian youth training and mentoring program.  She is very active in her church youth choir and ensemble, and she serves as a female vocalist for the church high school Praise and Worship Band.  Offered both academic and music vocal performance scholarships from the University of Mobile, Janie decided instead to attend Lee University, Cleveland, Tenn., and pursue a degree in music vocal performance with an emphasis in music business.

 

Brian Fourroux, son of Kathy Fourroux, graduated from BJHS, where he was a member of the National Science Honor Society, Beta Club, and the Varsity Soccer Team.  Brian was on the “A” Honor Roll and was the recipient of Golden Key Awards at the state level for his individual paintings and portfolio.  An active member of his church, he sings in the choir, is a small group leader, serves as a counselor at Royal Family Kids Camp, and has been on church mission trips to Honduras and Columbia.  In his spare time, Brian enjoys reading, playing guitar and ultimate frisbee, working with youth ministries, and spending time with his friends.  Brian attends AU, where he is majoring in psychology.
